Mother’s Milk Offers Nutrition and Protection to baby:

There is no best food other than mother’s milk for the small tiny one .Breast milk is highly nutritious and eases the tension about worrying about the food the baby consumes. The mother’s milk contains antibodies, which can protect the child from disease. In spite of the fact that the market is full of artificial baby food, mothers milk stands a class apart.

Many mothers however suffer from lack of breast milk. This becomes a matter of concern, since the baby stands a chance of ill effects to the child’s metabolism, .if using artificial food. Many people advise the mother to go on malt liquor to increase milk secretion. The only problem with this is that this can harm the mothers’ health in the long run.

Suggestion to a mother to improve milk quantity and quality:

·         Diet plays a major role in determining the amount of milk that is available.

·         Ensure that the mother always consumes a balanced diet that is rich in animal as well as vegetable sourced supplements.

·         It’s up to the mother to consume wine or malt liquor. However it is advisable to refrain from using these products for a long period of time.

·         The use of ginger ale or any ale for that matter is also commonly practiced. Some mothers may have issues with the stomach so be a little careful on that aspect.

·         Make sure that the mother follows a small yet effective pattern of daily exercise routine.

·         Exposure to open air and a small relaxed walk is trusted to aid in an enhanced milk secretion.

·         A cold water bath for the mother is highly suitable.

·         Apart from these the parent’s physical constitution as well as the body nature plays a vital role in determining the quality and quantity of milk.

A true example stressing the need for breast milk:

A healthy woman who was only twenty-four years of age delivered a baby. She had adequate labor and even her breasts seemed enlarged to the right level. However the mother was not capable of feeding the baby. There was not enough to nourish the baby. The mother was checked on her diet and maintained on an exercise regimen and slowly her milk quantity increased yet not enough for the growing toddler. The baby was put on artificial baby food which caused acute diarrhea. The bowels of the baby need time to move from natural mother’s milk to artificial baby food.

It was a stressful time wondering how to save the little one .Slowly the mother’s milk started increasing and the baby was made to suckle the same .The child and mother became alright.

Conclusion:

There is no substitute for mother’s milk .It builds a relationship between the mother and the child .When the child grows up and has an increase in appetite then artificial food can be thought of as an option.
